Recent permit filing with the city of Mesa indicated the popular fast food chain was opening a new location at the northeast corner of Dobson Road and Southern Avenue. An opening soon sign was seen outside the nearly finished construction earlier this week. It was unknown at this time when the location would be open. Stay tuned for more information.
A grand opening for Scooter's Coffee in Tempe was set for Aug. 9, with day long promotions planned for patrons, according to the Nebraska-based coffee-chain on Facebook . Opening at 6 a.m., the grand opening of the Tempe location near Southern Avenue and Rural Road, brought a special buy one drink, get one drink free offer, limited to one offer per customer. Free stickers would also be available with every order, while supplies last, according to the Facebook post. In 2021, Scooter's Coffee announced a two-location franchise expansion into Arizona. "The suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona are a great market for our brand,” said Kelly Crummer, Scooter's senior director of franchise recruitment, in a news release . Now there were nine Scooter's locations throughout Arizona, five of which were currently under construction, according to the company's store locator. (Photo by AZ Valley View staff ) Taqueria Factory and Fruitlandia will open their first combined drive thru restaurant at the former 5 & Diner just outside Arizona Mills, located at 5025 S Arizona Mills Cir., in Tempe. The location is expected to o pen in mid June, according to an April article from What Now Phoenix. Taqueria Factory offers Mexican cuisine such as tacos and ramen birria that “marries tradition and innovation” according to the restaurant's website. Fruitlandia, owned by Taqueria Factory founders Gamaliel and Maria Garfio, offers authentic Mexican treats and desserts like Sonora Dogs, and a non-alcoholic Pina Colada with shaved ice and pineapple ice cream.
